Today was one of the hottest days of this summer so far. Pete slept through it while trying to fix his sleep schedule (and somehow ended up making it worse), but for those of us who had to walk dogs and toil, it was a killer.
Shortly after 5:30pm, the grey skies turned to a very sporadic drizzle, so I took to my bike and rode to the library. I browsed the logic and graphic design sections, two particular interests of mine at the moment.
I am trying to put together a portfolio, so I grabbed a bunch of books that have some interesting art techniques, ideas, or uniqueness.
They also had in two out of three of the books I ordered from another branch. I really can't get enough of De Bono - such a quick but interesting read!
I also went to the shops to pick up some rocket, as well as the latest Frankie magazine, released today. I have a love/hate relationship with this particular text...
My mother-in-law dropped off some strawberries from the latest harvest. Look at my previous post if you want to see our strawberry plants. They are especially lush at the moment.
It was too hot to actually eat, so I admit to skipping a lot of meals today. However, I made a protein smoothie with vanilla powder, strawberries, a mango, and soymilk.
It was the perfect refreshment for a hot summer night.
I hope you managed to stay out of the heat!
