Our CD Collection

20131231_151141

This is our classical and jazz CD collection, or really, I should say Pete's. He has incredible taste, and I admired this collection from day one, but I never really took my time out to appreciate it (with the exception of game soundtracks). I knew that at any moment I could go pick up something wonderful and new to me, but when it came down to it, I put on the same old thing.

I've decided to start being more mindful of everything in my house, and I thought this was the simplest place to start. I love putting on music while I take care of the laundry, washing up, tidying and dusting, so I took advantage during my daily chores and put on Miles Davis's 'Sketches of Spain'.

It was recorded in 1959-60, and features the pieces 'Concierto de Aranjuez', 'Will O' the Wisp', 'The Pan Piper', 'Saeta', and 'Solea'. Apparently there is a rerelease from 1997 that has more tracks, but ours is older. I think the first track is my favourite, but 'Will O' The Wisp' almost ties with it.

It's only about 40 minutes long, so play it through twice. Your ears won't regret it.
